This is for all my dating friends. Phermones, the way to snag him (or her). Ahh, but the question remains, and this is the most important one, "do you really want him (or her)?" Add to that: Are they really worthy of you? And do you really want to force a relationship with phermones, if the natural chemistry isn't there itself? What happens when those phermones run out? And how on earth can you possible NOT imagine that God and the Universe has the perfect person waiting for you, where your natural phermones collide and unite perfectly? Hum, ponder those questions a while.
Then, if you are still interested in phermones, read this. I always tell you I will find you the best sources for products, and this looks like it may be the one for phermones. No, I am not going to try it out, and yes, you better tell me if it works and what results you get LOL!
Here is the article I found today while browsing Yahoo news:
Sex Pheromones are Bending the Laws of Attraction
(ARA) - Our attraction to others may be about having the right chemistry after all. Throughout history, it has been a mystery why certain humans are attracted to each other. However, scientific research has now concluded that dating and mating is highly influenced by pheromones, powerful chemicals produced by the body.
Pheromones are natural air-borne chemical hormones the body produces to attract the opposite sex. You can't see them or smell them, yet they can be powerful enough to instantly draw another person in.
Dr. Virgil Amend explains in detail the discoveries that led to the development of effective pheromone formulas for both men and women called "Pheromone Advantage".
Dr. Amend says, "Scientists have known for decades about an organ just inside the nasal cavity called the vomeronasal organ (VNO). It appears that the sole function of the VNO is to detect trace amounts of pheromones, and in turn, stimulates the limbic region of the brain, also known as the 'Seat of Emotions'. This area of the brain is responsible for our emotions and passionate desires."
"What's quite interesting", Dr. Amend continues, "Is it has been recently discovered that specialized nerve pathways known as "Nerve O" run directly from the VNO to the limbic region. These specialized nerves were thought to remain dormant the majority of the time, but have now been confirmed to become quite active when subjected to specific human pheromones. The evidence tells us that humans do, in fact, respond to pheromones just as animals do, and the best part is this response can be triggered intentionally".
A precise concentration of pheromones can kick off a rush of chemicals in the brain within a matter of seconds, and can make people feel a strong emotional and physical response. "The next thing we know, the fireworks begin," says Dr. Amend. "This formulation can produce that response, and while the chemical cascade may take mere seconds to occur, the effects can last a lifetime."
"Attraction is really all about chemistry" says Dr. Amend, "After all, men and women have been hard wired from the beginning for one basic purpose ... and that is to reproduce. These formulations merely tap into the power of nature's chemistry by triggering the signals both sexes are programmed to sense and respond to."
Test studies confirm that men and women respond to different sets of pheromones. Developed with Dr. Amend, Pheromone Advantage offers unique formulations for both men and women that sell for just $39.95 for a two month supply.
Our understanding of both sexes unique capacity to sense pheromones, and the nerve pathways that that deliver those signals to the brain, have paved the way to the development of these powerful formulations. "Had it not been for this understanding, we would not have known which pheromones, and the exact concentrations to use," explains Dr. Amend.
"Humans naturally produce their own pheromones." Dr. Amend continues, "However, our cultural habits can wash away, distort or hide our natural pheromones with frequent bathing, detergents, antiperspirants, etc. By dabbing a few drops of the Pheromone Advantage formulas on their skin, both men and women can not only replace natural levels of these pheromones, but boost levels to the extent that the concentration is unavoidable in their presence."
Dr Amend's formula is now supercharging the love lives of thousands of men. To put the power of pheromones to work for you, visit www.PheromoneAdvantage.com for all the facts and details on a special buy 2 get 1 free offer.

Wholistic Pharmacy, Irving, Texas
Ya'll, every single time I go anywhere, I try to find the best natural food store in the area, just in case I need some supplement. (as most of you know by now, I am allergic to tons of pharmacueticals and use predominately herbals and supplements instead.)
Well, lo and behold, look what I stumbled upon when checking out Irving (where Flylady's party is going to be tommorrow.) It looks exactly like a Peoples' pharmacy as found in Austin. If you are in the Dallas, Fort Worth area, you might want to give them a try. Believe me, I will be checking them out this weekend while I am there and I will let you know what I find ;-) Here is the information I found on them!

Manipulative People
If you have a chronic disease, ask yourself if you have a manipulative person in your life at work, home, or both. All too often, those being manipulated 'stuff' their true feelings of resentment and/or find themselves, everyday, feeling powerless. All this can add up to chronic disease. It may not even be the initial cause, but it certainly doesn't help.
These are some basic clues to manipulation. And I got all these from Pastor Danny Green at Covenant Family Church, College Station, Texas last Sunday. The wonderful man not only sits there and talks to you, as one friend to another, but he gives cheat notes! These are his cheat notes.
Manipulation means- "managing or controlling by shrewd use of influence, often in an unfair or fraudulent way." Genesis 3:1-12 and I Kings 21:1-16
People who manipulate:
#1 Set out to satisfy or build their own kingdoms.
#2 Use people in order to get ahead.
#3 Sulk and get angry when they don't get their way.
#4 Abuse the authority they have been given.
Manipulative people can display attitudes of...
* Pride, arrogance, conceit
* Insecurity
* Moodiness
* Selfishness
* Cynicism (no trust--if you are a trusting and trustworthy person, they won't believe you, they will think you are up to something.)
Manipulators know how to play the game....
1. Play the Victim (I'm not responsible.)
2. Play the matyr.
3. Play stupid.
4. Fabricate and embellish the facts.
5. Act (play) "sorry" for wrong behaviors.
Susan here--sometimes just recognizing that you have a manipulator is a help in and of itself. You recognize how totally different their approach is to the world than yours, and you realize they are taking your good natured kindness and using it to their benefit. In short, you are not crazy. Pastor Danny told us the one most important thing to say to manipulators is "That was hurtful. Quit that." But mostly, he seemed concerned that each of us individually improve. To that point he closed with:
How to positively influence the people in your life.
Step #1 Stop gossiping and critizing other people.
Step #2 Compliment people when you can.
Step #3 Inspire people.
Step #4 Take a genuine interest in people (they will know when it is not genuine.)
Susan again: that's it, that's my blog for the day. Hope you liked it and hope it helps you ;-)

Flylady! in Dallas!
Have you checked out Flylady's website yet? www.flylady.net It includes how to organize your life with basic routines and oh so much more. If you are sick, or going through stress, this internet support group could easily be just the thing you need. If you have ADD, or ADHD, for check her out. It could completely turn your life from chaos to calm.
Flylady is going to be in Dallas this Saturday. Yahoo is giving her a free party in honor of having reached 500,000 members. And I'm going. Her website sent out a request for people to do an interview. I thought you might like to see what I sent back. Here goes:
Yes, I can do the interview. But I don't know if you want me. I have basic routines down, thanks to Flylady, and our lives run so much better. I have been doing ths for about five years now. I usually do the weekly cleaning, and quite frankly my husband usually does it with me...which takes about a half an hour total and wow, it winds up being fun. It just gives you such a feeling of satisfaction. we have fallen off of the five minute pick up before bed routine because I fall asleep in the lounge chair watching tv. And Leanne, what a woman! There are only two of us who eat out often, but I have at least two of her cookbooks, and I love them. When our lives are hectic, seriously stressed to where I can't even think, I always copy (on my copier) a week of menus with the shopping list and head to the store. And that's it, that's about all I do. But this little I do has revolutionized my life and I wish I had had them forever. I can tell the interviewer that the routines have have not only created calm in day to day activities, and calm when going through stress like here comes a hurricane, but they have also redirected my life during down times. In the past ten years I have faced a huge amount of betrayal and rejection from very close family members, largely due to money. But even during my most hurt periods, I would still find myself crawling out of bed, pulling up the covers and thereby starting my morning routine! Tears and all! (even camping when my husband is still sleeping LOL I would be pulling up my side of the covers) Other than not having a messy home, daily routines did something for me mentally. Each routine reminded me, each time, "I can take care of myself emotionally. I can do this. Each day I can take care of myself emotionally just like I do these routines physically. Even if no one else is there for me, I am strong and resourceful and I can get through this." I bet all flybabies are like this. And that mental shift, alone, is simply amazing. Thank you Flylady.

Heart Attacks and Nattokinese
Thrombus: A blood clot that obstructs a blood vessel or a cavity of the heart.
Potent Thrombolytic Activity
The human body produces several types of enzymes for making thrombus, but only one main enzyme for breaking it down and dissolving it - plasmin. The properties of nattokinase closely resemble plasmin. According to Dr. Martin Milner, from the Center for Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, what makes nattokinase a particularly potent treatment, is that it enhances the body's natural ability to fight blood clots in several different ways; Because it so closely resembles plasmin, it dissolves fibrin directly. In addition, it also enhances the body's production of both plasmin and other clot-dissolving agents, including urokinase (endogenous). "In some ways, Milner says, nattokinase is actually superior to conventional clot-dissolving drugs. T-PAs (tissue plasminogen activators) like urokinase (the drug), are only effective when taken intravenously and often fail simply because a stroke or heart attack victim's arteries have hardened beyond the point where they can be treated by any other clot-dissolving agent. Nattokinase, however, can help prevent that hardening with an oral dose of as little as 100 mg a day." 1,7
Research In The United States
Dr. Martin Milner of the Center for Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and Dr. Kouhei Makise of the Imadeqawa Makise Clinica in Kyoto, Japan were able to launch a joint research project on nattokinase and write an extensive paper on their findings. "In all my years of research as a professor of cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, natto and nattokinase represents the most exciting new development in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular related diseases," Dr. Milner said. "We have finally found a potent natural agent that can thin and dissolve clots effectively, with relative safety and without side effects." 1

A Magnificent Mind
This is what just came in my email from Dr. Daniel Amen, MD. Dr. Amen is a psychiatrist who has written many books and sutided the special x ray images of many, many brains.
A Magnificent Mind Can Be Yours
I just finished filming a new PBS special based on my new book, Magnificent Mind At Any Age, that is coming out December 2nd. Over the next few months I will include snippets of the book and PBS show in our Brain in the News e-newsletter.
Here is a piece from Chapter 2: A Magnificent Mind Starts With A Healthy Brain...
“Brains run the world. They run the stock market and the local market. They run huge corporations and the “mom and pop shop” down the street. Brains run churches, banks, hotels, tennis clubs, dry cleaners, professional basketball teams, Internet dating services and universities. Brains run marriages, choirs, homeowner associations and terrorist groups. Your brain runs you and is significantly involved in running your family.
Yet, even though the brain is involved with everything we do at work and at home, we rarely think about or honor the brain. There is no formal education about the brain in MBA programs; no brain training programs at church; no brain exercises in customer service or management programs; and no real practical education about the brain in school. The lack of brain education is a huge mistake, because success in all we do starts with a healthy brain. The characteristics of a magnificent mind include personal responsibility, clear goals, good attention, consistent effort, effective social skills, impulse control, motivation, integrity and creativity. Yet, few people realize that all of these are brain functions. A healthy brain makes these characteristics easier to incorporate in your life, while a damaged or struggling brain makes these much harder.
Taking great care of your brain is essential to a magnificent mind. Here is an example. In one of the graduate psychology courses I taught I asked for volunteers for our healthy brain study. By the year 2000, we had amassed tens of thousands of SPECT scans for clinical reasons, such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, brain trauma, marital strife and violence. In order to further our research efforts we needed to build a large normal database to compare our clinical studies. I solicited normal people wherever I went. Surprisingly, they were not that easy to find. Christy, one of my favorite students, came up after class very excited. She said, “You have to scan my 82 year old grandmother, Anna. She is one of the most normal people I know. You will love her.” On Christy’s advice and her grandmother’s agreement, we screened Anna and indeed found her to be healthy. She met all of the criteria for the study: no psychiatric illness at any point in her life, no substance abuse, brain injuries, first degree relatives with psychiatric illness and she was not on any medications. Anna had been married for 58 years and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a sharp, curious mind and was active in her church and community. She had solid relationships that spanned many years. Anna never drank alcohol, never smoked and tried to eat healthy. Anna has one of the healthiest brains I had ever seen, out of nearly 50,000! Her brain fit her life.
The First Steps to a Healthier Brain
Most of us are never taught about how important the brain is, so we go through life thinking about everything but this critically important organ (weight, skin care, finances, children, internet dating, vacations, careers, sports). I live in Newport Beach, CA, the heart of the OC (Orange County). We have often been called the plastic society because we have more plastic walking around our streets and beaches than almost any other place in the world. I often say that we care more about our faces, our boobs, our bellies and our butts, than we do our brain. How stupid is that? When you really want to change, the first place to always start is with your brain.
In the weeks to come I'll be giving our Brain in the News family more peeks at the upcoming book and PBS Special, I'm very excited about it and I think both the book and TV Special have great information for helping you have a better brain and a better life - isn't that what we all want? Here's a quick look at the new book's chapter titles...

Positive Thinking and Viruses
Hum.... I just got this from one of my list serves, HCP:
A recent
study published in Psychosomatic Medicine reveals that people
who choose to look at the glass as half full are 33% less likely
to get sick when exposed to a virus. Why? Positive emotions
prompt the release of chemicals that strengthen the immune system.
No wonder we all get sick, with whatever virus is floating around, when we are stressed! Get a notebook! Start writing down every negative thing. Look at the silver lining of the negative. Write it down. Focus on the silver lining part of the problem throughout your day. See if it makes a difference.
