ADD/ADHD Arctic Cod Liver Oil

You get the most omega threes in arctic cod liver oil. As well, the best results I have observed in parents and individuals with ADD/ADHD has been using arctic cod liver oil, versus say, flax seed oil. So far, every doctor I have talked to has recommended a load dose of one teaspoon twice a day for children and one tablespoon, twice a day for 12 and above. Observe the difference in about six weeks time. As one mother of an ADD child said (herself ADD) "I began to feel so much calmer." If there are any bi-polar tendencies you definitely want arctic cod liver oil in the line up. You can cut back to once a day after that.

Yes, you can do pills. Dr. Janice Poole recommends keeping them in the freezer for less burping. Generally, six of those large capsules equals one tablespoon, two equal one teaspoon. And children generally do better with the liquid, because it is easier to swallow.

Note: the easiest way I know if I have been accidentally forgetting to take my arctic cod liver oil, is if I am cutting onions and my eyes start to water. If my dosage is correct, that flat doesn't happen!!! Try it and see. Same thing with my husband.
GOOD LUCK!

ADD/ADHD food allergies summation

Again, this is the visual for leaky gut. Food particles can escape into your body through microscopic tears in your gut. Your body sees these food particles only as foreigners to be fought. ADD/ADHD symptoms are often lessened if not completely eliminated by treating leaky gut correctly. This includes eliminating the offending food allergens and resupplying the gut with correct micro flora (probiotics like lactobacillus).

There are many medical laboratories that do food allergy testing, via the blood, for both IgG and IgE (immediate and delayed responses). Your natural health care practitioner, be he or she a chiropractor, acupuncturist, naturapathic doctor, or medical doctor, will order these tests for you from a lab they find reputable and who they get the best prices from. If you do not yet have a holistic health care practitioner, and you think you or your child may have food allergens, click on these websites to find health care practitioners near you that use their companies. http://www.gdx.com (Genova labs) and http://www.usbiotek.com

You know, neither Barbra or I thought we would be able to stick to the elimination diet, but we did. We didn't think Atlantis would be able to stick to the elimination diet, particularly when away from home, away from Mom, but she did. Why? Because off of the food allergens, you feel better physically and mentally. And once you feel that way, you don't ever want to go back.

Good Luck!

ADD/ADHD ApplesauceRecipe

Just in case you do wind up going on an elimination diet for food allergens and/or yeast, for whatever reason, including ADD/ADHD, this is a wonderful recipe from Dr. Crooks cookbook, THE YEAST CONNECTION COOKBOOK which you can buy at http://www.yeastconnection.com/ It also completely eliminates high fructose corn syrup. I am showing you how easy it is to cook standbys you rely on, without any additives.

REAL APPLESAUCE

1 apple per person, any kind except red delicious

1/4 cup apple juice or fresh-pressed cider OR pureed ripe pears per person for the first four servings (add 2 tablespoons for each serving beyond that)

Dash of cinnamon, optional

Peel, core and dice the apples into a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15-30 minutes until the apples soften. Stir in cinnamon if you wish. Serve warm.

By now you know me, and you know I have made enough to stick in the fridge to devour during the week...forget canning LOL.
