ADD/ADHD ApplesauceRecipe

Just in case you do wind up going on an elimination diet for food allergens and/or yeast, for whatever reason, including ADD/ADHD, this is a wonderful recipe from Dr. Crooks cookbook, THE YEAST CONNECTION COOKBOOK which you can buy at http://www.yeastconnection.com/ It also completely eliminates high fructose corn syrup. I am showing you how easy it is to cook standbys you rely on, without any additives.

REAL APPLESAUCE

1 apple per person, any kind except red delicious

1/4 cup apple juice or fresh-pressed cider OR pureed ripe pears per person for the first four servings (add 2 tablespoons for each serving beyond that)

Dash of cinnamon, optional

Peel, core and dice the apples into a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15-30 minutes until the apples soften. Stir in cinnamon if you wish. Serve warm.

By now you know me, and you know I have made enough to stick in the fridge to devour during the week...forget canning LOL.
